Gold Market Sentiment Gauge — Fear or Greed
The semi-circular gauge indicates market sentiment level 0-100, from "Extreme Fear" (red, left) to "Extreme Greed" (green, right).
Example from image: needle at 30 = "Fear," meaning the market is still cautious.
Below are three sub-indicators: 30-day cumulative trend (32) · Trading days (25) · 7-day momentum (35)
SPDR Gold Flow Statistics
The statistics cards show net buying/selling pressure. Example from image:
This month's net −22.64 tons (bought +6.00 · sold −28.64) · 1-year net +77.73 tons
Buy days:sell days this month 4:12 (of 23 trading days) · Year-to-date 100:102 (of 253 trading days)
Negative values = net fund selling (gradually reducing gold holdings) · Positive values = net buying (accumulating gold)
Why Use It
SPDR is the world's largest gold fund. When it buys or sells heavily, it often reflects the direction of the gold market. So I've pulled this data to display simply, with a market sentiment summary visible on one screen.
Techniques from Experience
Use the sentiment gauge together with net buying/selling flow — if the needle points to the fear side and funds are continuously selling net, you should trade gold with greater caution.
